The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

John Green’s first-person narrative tells the story of Hazel, a terminally ill cancer patient whose life has been indefinitely extended by a “miracle drug”. Despite her added time, Hazel remains bitter and angry about both her disease and quality of life, until she meets Augustus Waters in her cancer support group. Though she feels their relationship is ultimately doomed to end in tragedy, Augustus teaches Hazel how to embrace life, despite its disappointments, and that love, even when it hurts, is worth the ride.
